Hair Replacement Transplant
Are you starting to notice thinning hair?
Are you considering having a hair transplant performed? You most likely will have a few more questions before you make your final decision. If this describes you ... trust us ... you're not alone. Many people are now deciding to have hair replacement transplants each year. What Happens in Hair Transplant Surgery? In the beginning, the surgeon performing the hair replacement surgery will draw a line along your hairline near the front of your scalp. Your scalp will be numbed and the thickest area of hair usually the back of the head will be shaved. Then the skin from the back of your head where the hairs are attached are removed to be placed on the front. Sounds nice doesn't it? This hair from the thickest area of you scalp will be given to the attendants. The attendants remove every individual hair follicle and put them into a saline solution where they will stay until it is time for the hair replacement transplant. While your hair stays in the saline solutions, the doctor or hair replacement transplant surgeon will be cutting tiny incisions into the front of your head along the hairline where he previous drew a line. He will not have to cut a different incision for each follicle. He can transplant around 2,000 follicles per transplant. After about a week, the incisions from the hair replacement transplant will begin to heal and the scabs will fall off. It still may take up to one full year for hair to begin to grow in the area of the hair replacement transplant. Your transplant surgeon may suggest that you use a prescriptions drug such as Propecia or perhaps even Rogaine to ensure that you will not need another hair transplant in order to get new hair to grown. The use of the drug will aid in preventing another hair replacement transplant. Men and women both as they age can lose hair. There are no real cures to ensure that you never have problems with thinning hair or eventually going bald. However with a hair replacement transplant using your own hair, you can still achieve natural looking hair that will grow just like your own hair after awhile. Remember though, a hair replacement transplant is not a quick way to ensure that you will have a full head of hair. It will take a very long time maybe even up to one year before your own hair begins to grow after a hair transplant.
