Insomnia and Depression
Insomnia, an eight letter disaster, and when it strikes with its greatest force can cause calamity and chaos to the human mind. Men are the most afflicted victims of insomnia.
Why men? The answer is clear. If all that sedentary work in the
office is not taxing enough, he has to come back and face all the questions that are badgered at him regarding the pending Electricity bills , Telephone bills, home decorating, etc. etc. and with a tired body these questions along with incessant badgering just seem to make matters worse.
I, in my leisure time often try to relate both insomnia and depression. What
is caused by what? Does insomnia lead to depression or vice-versa, or are they both co-related to each other? Over the past few days I have noticed that everything seems to bug me and nothing seems to be going right even the weekly dose of football on the television and a lad’s night out doesn’t seem to lift my mood and nothing is more on my mind than a good nights sleep. Why can’t I get some sleep? I need to find an insomnia cure before I loose sight altogether. I mean come on ... sleep over beer ... I must be going mad. Insomnia seems to be taking a heavy toll on me. My attempts on trying to catch up with some sleep have proved futile and as I get up from the bed to start a fresh new day, I feel as though a truck has hit me. I can feel pangs of pain all over my body. My body is almost as broken as my mind and my sex drive has taken a nose dive. Even the cute blonde next door no longer stirs my interest, there has to be a cure for this. Insomnia left untreated can in fact develop into depression as the body struggles to rest and gain comfort and healing through sleep. Without the much needed sleep that the body requires everyday tasks can become a nightmare ... especially with the incessant snoring of your girlfriend. Depression and insomnia are widespread and very common among men but rest assured they can be cured quite easily once the problem is addressed.
