Your quest for the fountain of youth may be over! Or at least it seems. What if you were told that you could delay aging or even take years off? HGH – or human growth hormone – has arrived. A proliferation of information – fact and myth – has hit the market. Before going to your nearest supplement store, perhaps it might be better if you sat down first and read the essentials on HGH. Let’s take a break from muscles and exercise, and now concentrate on the brain, for this is where the hoopla over HGH comes from. The brain’s anterior pituitary gland produces human growth hormones. HGH is responsible for rebuilding tissue, regeneration of cells in bones and other vital organs and supports the immune system to help it fight disease. But like good things must end, our HGH “inventory” declines. So what's the solution?

Apparently, in 1990, an article was published in the New England Journal of Medicine by a Dr. Rudman who conducted a six month experiment using two groups of men with identical diets and exercise programs. The study however did not give the age group of these men. One of the two groups was administered injectable synthetic HGH, and it was discovered by Dr. Rudman that the test group had an 8.8% increase in lean muscle mass and a 14.4% decrease in body fat. This same group who was given HGH also reported better sleep, higher energy levels and muscle tone. This study therefore triggered many companies to try to mimic the results achieved with prescription injectable HGH via non-prescription supplements. The HGH supplements being marketed these days do not use prescription HGH. The non-prescription supplements are divided into two groups: homeopathic HGH and HGH releasers. Homeopathic HGHThe homeopathic HGH supplements use tiny amounts of synthetic HGH to incite the human body to produce it own growth hormone. They tend to be effective, but note that the US Food and Drug Administration closely regulates the amount of homeopathic HGH that can be incorporated without a prescription. So beware: companies who claim to sell products with comparable levels of HGH as those found in prescription injections aren’t being 100% honest with you. HGH ReleasersThe other kind, HGH releasers, are really amino acid multi-vitamins, typically containing amino acids like valine and glutamine – the HGH building blocks. These components have to undergo a chemical change to produce authentic HGH so the less expensive pill supplements that claim to be HGH are merely amino acid releasers. Testimonials from people who have taken these HGH products have given them high success ratings (over 75%), but again, do your homework before you run to the store. These products cost an arm and a leg, and may not necessarily be as effective as their manufacturers claim.
