Prostate Cancer Symptom
No guy wants to think about cancer, especially not prostate cancer.
However, you need to know the prostate cancer symptoms, what to watch for, and when to seek treatment to stay healthy. Hiding from it will not make it go away. Education is your best defense against prostate cancer and catching the disease in its early stages. What's Cancer?Prostate cancer is the abnormal growth of cells in the prostate gland. While there are some notable prostate cancer symptoms, there may or may not be symptoms present. Some men may have prostate cancer and not show any signs of the disease; on the other hand, some men may experience some of these indicators and not have prostate cancer. "I gotta Go" Because the prostate surrounds the urethra, enlargement of the gland will often result in urination problems. For this reason, one of the most identifiable prostate cancer symptoms involves difficulty or change in urination. This may include difficulty in urinating, a weak stream while urinating, or an excessive need to urinate. The feeling of a full bladder or a feeling that your bladder is not completely empty is another indicator, as is blood in the urine. However, because other medical conditions have these symptoms as well, such as a bladder or urinary tract infection, they do not necessarily cause concern when they are first experienced.
"Was it Good For You?"There are also sexual issues that sometimes arise as prostate cancer symptoms. Of these, difficulty in maintaining an erection and painful ejaculation are among the most common. Blood being present in the semen is also a potential prostate cancer symptom. As with the urinary problems, these symptoms often point to a number of disorders or diseases, so cancer may be the last thing on a guy’s mind should they arise. However, these prostate cancer symptoms often cause more concern than the urinary issues and medical treatment is usually sought more quickly. "Walk Like an Egyptian ..." Another potential prostate cancer symptom is stiffness or pain in the hips, upper thighs, or lower back. Frequent or recurring pain in these areas may be a cause for concern.
Waking up in the morning and being unable to stand straight could mean more than you need a new mattress.
These prostate cancer symptoms at a young age may not cause apprehension. Prostate cancer is relatively rare in men under the age of 50. In fact, half of all cases occur in men over the age of 70. Therefore, regular screening once you reach the age of 50 is recommended. If these prostate cancer symptoms arise and you are within the range of greater risk, you should seek medical attention immediately. It could be something as simple as a urinary tract infection, but it is better to know for sure. Jim Shaw
