Nandrolone Decanoate
What do sprinters Linford Christie, Mark Richardson and Dougie Walker (all well known British sprinters), two hundred meter world champion Merlene Ottey and five hundred meter runner Dieter Baumann have in common? They all failed the test for nandrolone, an anabolic steroid popular among athletes.

Nandrolone’s commercial name is Deca-Durabolin and is identical to the male testosterone. It is known to build significant muscle mass, and heighten strength among users who compete in professional sports. Even if it is classified as an anabolic steroid, Deca-Durabolin is in fact used to treat certain diseases. There is a mystery surrounding Deca-Durabolin and it is uncertain what the details of this mystery are. An investigation by Aberdeen University in the UK reported that dietary supplements themselves are safe and do not produce high levels of Deca-Durabolin. However, it was found that a combination of both dietary supplements (those that do not contain any illegal substances) and exercise can result in a positive Deca-Durabolin test. As Paul May of Bristol University said, “the reason for this is still unclear, but one theory is that there is a link between heavy training, the dehydration that goes with it, and their effects upon the components of high protein diets. Until more work is done, however, the 'nandrolone mystery' goes on...” Nandrolone MakersThere are many manufacturers of Deca-Durabolin: Organon, Bender, Donmed, Steris, and Tokyo Labs to name a few. It is available in different doses. The decanoate ester of nandrolone is Deca, and is very popular among power builders. Deca-Durabolin is stacked with Dianabol, and this is where the concept of stacking probably originated from. This is why Deca-Durabolin is rarely used alone. And it stacks well with virtually anything. For experienced users, a dose of 200 to 600 mg a day is recommended. While sports federations and members of the Olympic committees may frown upon Deca-Durabolin because of its steroidal qualities, it does have one known benefit: it minimizes pain during workouts – it lubricates the joints, as it stores a lot of water in the joints. And in HIV studies, Deca-durabolin appears to improve the immune system of the patient. Deca-Durabolin TracesSome athletes would rather stay away from Deca-Durabolin because it leaves traces in the human body for up to a year. And for dope-testing purposes, this is certainly bad news. Moreover, Deca-Durabolin is very expensive. There are alternatives in the market that supposedly mimic the benefits of Deca Durabolin developed by manufacturers, but little evidence is available on their effectiveness, and whether they are a good substitute for the real Deca. Perhaps a look into discussion forums and chat and message boards can answer some questions. Those who have experience with something as potentially powerful as Deca-Durabolin often provide the most useful insights.
