Oxandrin
Have you recently lost weight because of surgery or a chronic infection? Is your body unable to produce more proteins, essential elements in the building of muscle and tissue? Then your doctor may prescribe Oxandrolone for you. Oxandrolone, also called Oxandrin, is the only substance approved by the government to promote weight gain after involuntary weight loss. It is taken orally, and is available in 2 mg and 10 mg capsules. The 2.5 mg tablets are oval and white, and have the initials of BTG on one side and "11" on each side of the score line on the other side; Oxandrin 10 mg tablets are capsule shaped, white, with BTG on one side and "10" on the other side.
Oxandrolone is a SteroidOxandrin or its pharmacology equivalent Oxandrolone is an anabolic steroid and is known to have caused liver malfunction. It falls under the category of controlled substances under the Anabolic Steroids Control Act of 1990. Oxandrin is listed under Schedule III which means it is a non-narcotic. Oxandrin or Oxandrolone is used only by a few bodybuilders because of its high price. It does not produce dramatic results because of its low doses but there is one steroids in sports case reported where a professional athlete took 150 mg oxandrolone per day and obtained remarkable gains. Bill Roberts, who is an expert on steroids, said, I personally have tried 150 mg/day and considered it somewhat effective, but not dramatically so, and not a preferred regimen. He also added that when taking a moderate dose of Oxandrolone in the morning, it is largely out of the system by night, yet supplies reasonable levels of androgen during the day and early evening. Like some steroids, prolonged use of Oxandrolone at 40 mg per day and higher can damage the liver. Who makes OxandroloneManufactured by Savient Pharmaceuticals, the product literature insert in OXANDRIN lists precautions when taking this drug: peliosis hepatis, a condition in which the liver and sometimes splenic tissue is replaced with blood-filled cysts, has been reported; liver cell tumors are also reported; blood lipid changes that are known to be associated with increased risk of atherosclerosis were also documented. Use of OxandroloneFor Oxandrolone to work properly, the user must follow a diet that is high in proteins and calories. Your family physician should be able to provide guidance. Prescribed doses of Oxandrin vary from patient to patient. Of course it goes without saying that the number of tablets you take depends on the strength of the tablet. Oxandrin must be stored at between and 15 and 26 C (59 and 77 F). Expired tablets must be discarded. Even if Oxandrolone is a steroid, it must be made clear at the start that it does not in any way enhance athletic ability. The Olympic Committee and other athletic organizations ban oxandrolone use by athletes. Generic forms of this substance are not available. Caution must also be exercised when your doctor prescribes Oxandrin, as it interacts with the following drugs: blood thinners such as warfarin, corticosteroids, epoetin alfa, finasteride, goserelin, leuprolide, medicines for diabetes and saw palmetto (www.drugdigest.org).
